Cross Hosannière XIIIth century A funerary monument that often surmounts a mass grave or an ossuary. Placed on a stone base, the shaft is full and surmounted by a cross. The term hosannière would come from the hosanne, sacred boxwood that was placed on the crosses. It could also come from the exclamation "hosanna" hymn which is sung on the day of the twigs.
